Privacy policy

Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra advertising load by default on the first view. Video pages also request YouTube thumbnails when they approach the viewport. Reject turns off analytics, replay and advertising, reloads the page to stop already-running scripts, and is remembered under snd_consent for 180 days. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track counts as Reject.

This policy describes the vendors and controls in this build, not a certification of compliance in every jurisdiction. A default-on notice is not an affirmative consent action. Previously transmitted data cannot be recalled by rejecting; contact us for deletion requests.

Who processes data

The operator is the editorial team of StupidNeverDies.net, an independent guide. Contact [email protected]. The site is static: no accounts, no payments, no comment form, and no newsletter. Requests for access, correction, or deletion of anything described here go to that address.

Default loading, and how to turn it off

This site follows a default-on model. On the first view it requests Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and the two Adsterra units, and it shows the cookie banner at the same time. The banner is a notice plus a withdrawal control, not a gate: nothing waits for an Accept click.

Reject writes choice “denied” to localStorage, disables GA4, updates Google and Clarity consent signals to denied, removes the Adsterra units, and reloads the page. The denial is checked in the head before any vendor script can be requested. It is remembered for 180 days. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner, where Accept restores all three unless your browser sends GPC or DNT.

Global Privacy Control (navigator.globalPrivacyControl) and Do Not Track are treated as Reject without waiting for a click. The site does not use a first-party cookie for the choice.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) runs through gtag.js from www.googletagmanager.com, Measurement ID G-VL600S7VVM. Measurement requests go to google-analytics.com and its regional subdomains. Data can include page views, approximate location, device, browser and a client identifier. Purpose: measure readership. Google Consent Mode v2 starts with analytics_storage granted and ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied; ads_data_redaction is enabled before config. Accept enables the advertising consent signals. Reject or GPC denies all four.

Google documents _ga and _ga_<measurement-id> cookies with a default two-year lifetime; settings and browser restrictions may change that. The gtag dataLayer is only an in-memory queue. This policy does not claim a verified property-level retention period. Reject prevents future GA4 script requests on this origin; it does not erase data already held by Google. Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), project z18fr94x3a, loads from www.clarity.ms and scripts.clarity.ms and sends collection requests to clarity.ms subdomains. It records clicks, scrolling and session replays for usability analysis. Collection starts by default. The page uses Clarity consentv2, keeping advertising storage denied until Accept. Reject sends denied signals and reloads without the Clarity SDK, stopping even cookieless replay collection on the new document.

Microsoft documents _clck and _clsk first-party cookies and vendor-domain cookies including CLID, ANONCHK, SM and MUID; actual cookies depend on region, browser restrictions and vendor settings. Microsoft may use bing.com for its identifiers. We do not claim that every documented cookie is set on every visit or that a particular project retention setting has been independently verified. Microsoft’s policy: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Adsterra advertising

Advertising is served by Adsterra through its script host bicea.org, publisher id 3403020, website 6139966. Two page-level units are configured and both load by default: Native Banner unit 31850748 (NativeBanner_1) inside the page, and Social Bar unit 31850749 (SocialBar_1), a fixed strip at the bottom of the viewport. Neither invoker script is in the HTML the server sends; the page creates both on the first view. Adult ads are switched off in the Adsterra dashboard.

Adsterra receives requests that can include your IP address, user agent, referrer and page URL. Its scripts may store frequency and fraud-prevention data, including the observed extendedvaluekey localStorage entry. Vendor cookies and lifetimes vary; we do not invent a complete cookie inventory. Default loading is not evidence that you affirmatively consented to advertising. Reject prevents both invoker requests on subsequent documents.

Only the two placements recorded in our integration reference are enabled by this build. We cannot guarantee how every downstream advertiser processes data. You can reject these scripts here or use the DAA opt-out at https://optout.aboutads.info/. Adsterra’s policy: https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/.

YouTube and other third parties

YouTube (Google). Video pages show a thumbnail from i.ytimg.com. Only when you press play does the page insert an iframe to www.youtube-nocookie.com, which may then set its own cookies and read the embed. Purpose: show the official trailer you asked for. Legal basis: your click. Retention: Google’s policy.

The build directly integrates only Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Adsterra and the click-loaded YouTube player. Vendor scripts may make their own downstream requests. There is no AdSense, Google Tag Manager container, newsletter or social embed. Fonts are local system fonts, not Google Fonts. Tracking script elements are created at runtime only if no current rejection or privacy signal exists; this is default loading, not an Accept-only gate.

Storage keys, retention, and your rights

First-party localStorage: snd_consent holds {choice, exp, v} for 180 days; snd_floating_ad_closed holds “1” after you close the Social Bar so it stays closed. Neither is a cookie and neither leaves your browser. The Adsterra Social Bar writes its own extendedvaluekey entry on bicea.org’s behalf.

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what is held about you, ask for correction or deletion, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings. There is no account database to delete; most data sits with the vendors named above, and we will point you to their request forms. You can complain to your local data-protection authority.
